  Research Notes:

REIGN

King David II reigned from 1329 until 1371.

ROBERT STEWART DUKE OF ALBANY

With the rightful king, James I, imprisoned in England, the Duke of Albany was appointed Governor of Scotland and reigned as such from 1406 until 1420.

KNOCK

This is represented in the charter as being in Kincardineshire. there is a Knock Hill House between Monboddo and Feteresso, near Drumlithie, just at Glenbervie, that may point to the older landmark. Other authorities point rather to Knock being near Strachan itself, as in Knock Wood and Knockhill.
