William married Elizabeth CHALMERS, daughter of Reverend Mr William CHALMERS of Hazelhead and Smiddyhill, Minister of Skene parish and Unknown.1 (Elizabeth CHALMERS was born about 1630.)

"William Chalmer, born 1593, second son of Alexander C. of Cults, Provost of Aberdeen ; educated at King's College, Aberdeen; M.A. (1617); adm. before 20th June 1620; in 1645 his goods, gear, and books were carried off by Montrose's soldiers; was a member of Commission of Assembly, 1647 and 1649; died Feb. 1671. He marr. Elizabeth, daugh. of William Chalmer, min. of Skene, and had issue William, min. of Fettercairn; James, min. of Paisley ; John, min. of Peterhead ; Patrick, min. of this parish; Isabel, who fell under censure ; a daugh.
