General Notes: The 1851 census for Edinburgh St Cuthbert's recorded William greenhill, a carter, as head of the household living at Weaver's Close, 6 Semple Street. The household consisted of William, his wife Agnes, their seven children, and two lodgers: James Sandilands, a journeyman blacksmith, and Robert Anderson, a carter. William was recorded as 43 years of age and had been born in Edinburgh. 2 William married Ann BURGESS, daughter of John BURGESS and Mary FORREST, on 1 October 1830 in Saint Cuthbert's Parish, Edinburgh, Scotland. (Ann BURGESS was born in Edinburgh, Scotland 2 and was baptised on 10 May 1808 in Saint Cuthbert's Parish, Edinburgh, Scotland 3.) |
