"The earliest notice of Corrachree, as a separate property, is contained in the charter (already noticed) of James IV. (1507) to Alexander, son of Sir John Elphinston of Kildrummy. Some time during the administration of the Earldom of Mar by the Earl of Huntly, probably about the year 1562, the property was conferred upon George Gordon of Tilphoudie ; and afterwards confirmed to his son and successor, Patrick Gordon (1580)."

George married Helenor GORDON, daughter of Adam GORDON Lord of Aboyne, Earl of Sutherland, jure uxoris and Elizabeth SUTHERLAND 10th Countess of Sutherland.1 2 3 (Helenor GORDON was born about 1512.)

"George Gordon was retoured heir to his father in the lands of Little Folay on 6th October 1573. In 1562 George Gordon and Helenor Gordon his spouse, had a charter of the lands of Tilphoudie and Tillybreen... He has confirmation of the lands of Tilphoudie and Tillybreen by Mary, Queen of Scots, under the Great Seal.."
