   Research Notes: OLD MORLICH
Old Morlich was a farmsteading that formed part of a fermtoun, whose remains, according to the RCAHMS survive in an area of pasture about 200 meteres south of Parkieside cottage in the parish of Towie, Aberdeenshire. The OS Name Book (Aberdeenshire no 87 p.41) described Old Morlich as 'A large farm consisting of a neatly built dwelling house with a garden, and commodious farm offices detached, situated at the back end of Monael Wood. the property of Leith, Glenkindie House.' In addition to the remains of the 19th century farmsteading, there are footings of seven buildings and two kilns belonging to an earlier fermtoun.
