Marion married William LAUDER of Balbardies and Whitslaid, son of Gilbert LAUDER of Balbardy and Whitslaid, Sheriff Depute of Berwickshire and Elizabeth LAUDER, After 7 July 1593(charter). (William LAUDER of Balbardies and Whitslaid was born about 1555 and died in February 1620.)

"William Lauder of Whitslaid married twice. Marion Hamilton had a charter as future spouse of William Lauder of Whitslaid dated 7th July 1593.[¹⁴Hamilton, Lt.Col. Thomas Lauder, burgess of the burgh of Lauder, acted as baillie for an Instrument of sasine concerning an annualrent out of Whitslaid and Brighaithe [Braidhaughe] which had been granted to Richard Lauder, burgess of Lauder, by William Lauder of Whitslaid and Marion Hamilton his wife, dated 2nd June 1618.[²National Records of Scotland, Berwickshire Sasines, 18/1, fol.47.]

There is further mention of Marion Hamilton 'spouse of William Lauder of Whitslaid' in a Sasine dated 4th July 1618."
