Alison married Maurice LAUDER MP, Notary Public, Bailie and Burgess of Dunbar, son of William LAUDER of Belhaven and West Barns, Bailie and Burgess of Dunbar and Jonet LIDDELL, on 21 December 1589.¹ (Maurice LAUDER MP, Notary Public, Bailie and Burgess of Dunbar was born about 1519 and died before 9 March 1603 ².)

"Alison Cass

In a Precept of Sasine in a Charter dated 5th July 1594, William Lauder, Burgess of Dunbar, with the consent of Margaret Home his spouse, gives the west part of the Kirkland lying in the Winterfield, plus a small acre in the crofts of Belhaven lying next to the tenament and garden of Maurice Lauder, to Alison Cass, wife of said Maurice Lauder. One of the witnesses was George Lauder, son of Alexander Lauder in Belhaven.[¹National Archives of Scotland, RH6/3271]

In Maurice Lauder's Testament testamentar written on 5th April 1602 at Belhaven (proved at Edinburgh on 9th March 1603) he mentions his third wife ALISON CASS as his Executrix, and also mentions their two children, girls named Janet & Isobel. His Cautioner was named as 'Wm.Lauder eldest lawful son to the defunct.' "
