Alexander married Jean MAXWELL 'of Newark', daughter of Patrick MAXWELL of Newark and Marion CAMPBELL. (Jean MAXWELL 'of Newark' was born about 1615.)
Marriage Notes:
"Alexander Hamilton of Haggs. Will recorded 19th January 1652 (Hamilton and Campsie). He was served heir to his father 15th March 1617. He married Jean, daughter of Patrick Maxwell of Newark, and had issue : -
(a) Alexander (No. 231).
(b) Patrick Hamilton. Will recorded 10th June 1674 (Hamilton and Campsie). He married Janet, daughter of Matthew Newlands of Kipps. She is named in a retour, 10th September 1675."
