Alexander married First WIFE.1 (First WIFE was born about 1665 and died before December 1701 2.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander (Sutherland), the elder son, was apparently twice married, his second wife being Marie Ogilvy, daughter of the first Lord Banff. (See that title.) He died 11 November 1710, leaving two sons, Alexander, and Mr. James, the latter of whom, an advocate, had the lands of Croftcroy, on 30 July 1694, from the town of Elgin, and died s.p. The eldest, Alexander, succeeded to Kinminitie and other lands in Banffshire, and died in July 1725."

Alexander next married Mary OGILVY, daughter of Sir George OGILVY Lord Banff, Provost of Banff and Janet SUTHERLAND, December 1701(contract).1 2 (Mary OGILVY was born about 1635.)

"5. Mary (Ogilvy), married, first, contract dated 9 and 20 November 1649, to Walter Innes of Auchluncart; secondly, contract dated December 1701, to Alexander Sutherland of Kinminity."
