Marriage Notes:
"Robert Farquharson of Invercauld .... m. Anne, daughter of Alexander Ogilvy of Kempcairn, (she survived him and m. secondly to Roderick Mackenzie of Dalmore" from The Red Book of Scotland
Note:
It is assumed in this site that 'Roderick Mackenzie of Dalmore' and 'Roderick Mackenzie of Kinchulladrum' are one and the same person. Dalmore was part of the lands of the Earl of Seaforth.
"Roderick Mackenzie of Kinchulladrum, in the parish of Urray and Kilchrist, is named, in 1664, as fourth lawful son in life of the late George, Earl of Seaforth, Wihen he disponed to his brother, George, his interest in the estate of Kincurdie. As brother-german to the Earl of Seaforth there was a sasine in favour of himself and of his first wife, 13 May 1670, of the lands of Kinchulladrum and others. The estate of Kinchulladrum, a name wlhich has now disappeared from the map, seems to have included a good deal of. land which was subsequently incorporated into the estate of Highfield: it embraced Tenafield, Auchmore and Milton of Ord. Roderick Mackenzie was made a burgess of Aberdeen, 2 March 1674, as of 'Kinquhilldrum.' In 1679, as of 'Killchulladrum,' he was infeft in certain property at Fortrose, including a piece of land in the cemetery of the Cathedral Church, on the south side, being 72 ells in length from west to east and 50 ells broad from south to north. He died in March 1706, as appears by his testament-dative. He married (i) Anna Ogilvy, mentioned with him in the sasine of 1670. She is stated to have heen a daughter of the laird of Kempcairn, presumably Alexander, second son of Walter, first Lord Ogilvy of Deskford."

Marriage Notes:
"Katherine (Scougal) (marr. (3) Roderick Mackenzie of Kinchullardrum)"
from Fasti Ecclesiae (vol 7)
"V. Roderick, I. of Kinachulladrum, who married, first, Anna, daughter of Ogilvie of Glencairn (see Note below), in 1668 (sasine 1670), with issue - (1) Alexander, II. of Kinachulladrum, who married Anne, daughter of Alexander Mackenzie, III. of Applecross (marriage contract 1707), with issue - Anne, his only child alive in 1766; (2) Kenneth, who died without issue ; and two daughters. Roderick married, secondly, Catherine Scougall, daughter of the Bishop of Aberdeen, with issue, all of whom died young."
from History of the Mackenzies
Note:
"Anna, daughter of Ogilvie of Glencairn" is an error.
In 1637 Anne Ogilvy, daughter of James Ogilvy, 2nd Lord Deskford, then 1st Earl of Findlater and his wife Elizabeth Leslie, contracted to marry William Cunningham, 9th Earl of Glencairn. Their children would have been surnamed Cunningham, not Ogilvy.
Possibly 'Glencairn' is a mistake for 'Glencairn'. The Mackenzie family were involved in the 1650s in the failed Royalist action named the 'Glencairn and Middleton Risings', and this may have led to the confusion.
"He (Roderick Mackenzie) married (2) Katherine, eldest daughter of Patrick Scougall, Bishop of Aberdeen, and widow of William Scrogie, Bishop of Argyle, and of Patrick Forbes, Bishop of Caithness. Her marriage contract with Roderick Mackenzie was dated at Aberdeen, in 1680, she having a jointure of £3000 Scots from her first husband. In 1700, as widow of Patrick, Bishop of Caithness, and wife of Roderick, she granted a discharge, in respect of a bond in her favour for 7000 merks, from lands in the parish of Wick. She was served heir, 20 March 1705, to her brother, Sir James Scougall of Whitehill, a lord of Session."
