"Jean (Carnegie). She was married, first, to Alexander, eldest son of Alexander, second Lord Spynie, but had no issue by him ; and, secondly, to John Lindsay afterwards of Edzell (contract, in which she is styled Mistress of Spynie, dated 9 August 1647). Her tocher was 20,000 Scots."
