Marriage Notes: "Margaret (Scrimgeour). In December 1586 George Haliburton of Pitcur granted a charter of the lands of Thorngreen and others to his son James and Margaret Scrimgeour, his future wife, daughter of James Scrimgeour of Dudhope, Constable and Provost of Dundee." James next married Unknown PARTNER. (Unknown PARTNER was born about 1565.) Marriage Notes: "At Meigle on 6 October 1615, his (John Ogilvy's) father Sir John entered into a contract with John Haliburton, natural son of James Haliburton of Pitcur for the marriage of his son John Ogilvy apparent of Inverquarity to Susanna, the lawful daughter of John Haliburton.[2 Dundee City Archives Protocol Book of James Wedderburn 1610-1622 fol. 25v and 27] The young laird of Inverquarity married Susanna but this marriage proved short as Susanna died on 20 January 1621." |
