Judith married Major Arthur FORBES MAITLAND of Pitrichie, son of Thomas FORBES 13th, and last, of Echt and Mary MAITLAND.¹ (Major Arthur FORBES MAITLAND of Pitrichie was baptised on 10 May 1708 in Echt parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland ² and died in 1766 ¹.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Echt passed into the hands of another branch of the Forbes family, descended from Waterton. (See p. 424.) They purchased it from the Earl of Fife.

Major Arthur Forbes, his (Thomas Forbes's) eldest son, succeeded in 1751 under a deed of entail executed in 1706 by Sir Charles Maitland of Pitrichie, his maternal grandfather, to the estate of Pitrichie, in the Parish of Udny, last held by his cousin, Charles Maitland, M.P. and advocate, who was at the battle of Inverurie. Arthur Forbes thereupon assumed the name and arms of Maitland.

He married Judith, daughter of Richard Minnecks, a Dutch lady, and had a son, Thomas Maitland. He died 1766, being succeeded by a grandson, who sold Pitrichie."
