Margaret married Patrick GRAY of Ballegarno, son of Alexander GRAY of Ballegarno and Margaret KINNAIRD, about February 1550(grant).1 (Patrick GRAY of Ballegarno was born about 1520 and died by 14 January 1579(1580) 1.)

  Marriage Notes:

"As the late Constable of Dundee, James Scrymgour, had left no male heir in 1545, Margaret's father, his cousin, being the nearest male relative became Constable of Dundee and thus his interests moved to Dundee and he inherited large landholdings among which included an interest in Baledgarno. The resulting link of this new Constable to Baledgarno may well have led to the marriage of Patrick Gray of Baledgarno to his daughter Margaret Scrymgeour about 1550. In February that year John Scrymgeour Constable of Dundee granted to Patrick and his spouse, Margaret the lands of Kingoodie.[2 NRS GD68/1/35 see [1 Scrymgeor Inventory item 341] and RSS iv.660] The Constable also granted as his 'dochtir's tochir guids' a sum of money and a tak of the half lands of Drymmie. [3 Dundee City Archives; Robt Wedderburn's Protocol Book 1580-1585]

On 15 Nov 1568 Patrick and Margaret his spouse were granted by James Scrymgeour, son and heir apparent to John Scrymgeour of Dudhope, the whole lands and town of Drymie which Gilbert Ireland occupied and the third part of lands and town of Benvie. Thomas Gray in Gargaston was bailie for their infeftment. John Scrymgeour of Kirkton and James Scrymgeour of Henryston were witnesses at Dundee."
