Research Notes:
NORMAN PRINGLE
It is not yet clear why Norman Pringle Winton was given this name at baptism.
At the end of the Napoleonic Wars, just after the baptism of Jean Winton, "Sir John Pringle Bart. of Stitchel and Emily Macleod his Lady had a Son born 8 June 1815 named Norman"
So reads the Old Parish Register of the births and baptisms in the parish of Stitchel and Hume, on the border of Roxburghshire and Berwickshire respectively.
