Note:

There were a number of Thomas Urquharts, with various designations, which might account for the confusions about this man.

The website
thepeerage.com, citing Burke's Peerage [S37] BP2003., does not list either any John or Christina as offspring of this marriage, and in fact does not name the first wife at all, but does name Thomas Urquhart of Kinbeachie as a son of the couple in question. The Chronicle of the Family of Innes of Edingight states that Thomas and his first wife had a son and a daughter. In addition the same source names the daughter as Margaret, not Christina:

"In 1648, upon the marriage of his step-daughter, Margaret Urquhart, he (John Innes, 4th of Edingight) was led to undertake liability for her dowry, and this proved the cause of a lawsuit at the instance of James Mercer, the husband, for payment of 3000 merks, which ended in James Mercer obtaining letters of horning and caption against John Innes for payment of this money, 1657."

Another quote from that same source confirms that Margarte's brother was named Alexander, not John:

" ... in 1664, there is a discharge by Alexander Urquhart for this 3000 merks for his sister Margaret, who was then deceased". 1 2 3 4

Thomas next married Christian BRUCE, daughter of Sir John BRUCE of Airth and Margaret ELPHINSTONE.1 (Christian BRUCE was born about 1608.)
