(About 1224-1319) |
WEMYSS, Michael of that Ilk, Sir 1
User ID: H448. General Notes: "Sir Michael Wemyss of Wemyss, who succeeded his father, Sir John, first appears on record as a witness to a charter by his father in 1231. He probably was then very young, and he does not occur again in history till about 1280, when he is a witness to a charter by Sir Malcolm Moray, He is also, between 1289 and 1296, a witness to various charters by his son David .... His wife is not certainly known, but she may have been a daughter and coheiress of Sir David Lochore." They had issue, so far as recorded, one son : Michael married. |
