"Walter Abercrombie, son of Alexander A. of Birkenbog ; adm. in 1582 ; had a manse and glebe designated 23rd Jan. 1582-3; Kennethmont and Christ's Church were also in his charge; pres. by James VI. 31st Jan. 1582-3, and to the parsonage and vicarage of Oyne 26th May 1586 ; still in the charge in 1619, the belfry of the church bearing that date with his initials. He marr. Margaret, daugh. of Andrew (see Note) Leith of Licklyhead, and had issue John ; Elspet ; Andrew, min. of Fintray ; Beatrix (marr. It's assumed on this website that this given name is an error, though it is is not corrected in the volume of corrigenda of Fasti Ecclesiae. The given name 'Andrew' appears to be a later name used in this family, eg Sir Andrew Leith-Hay, which may account for the error. The chronology and designation 'of Licklyhead' suggest Margaret Leith was possibly Patrick Leith's daughter. 1
