"John Mowat, of Loscragy and Freswick. He was a witness with his father in 1487. Mentioned 16 July 1508 and 1 October 1510. Still living 29 April 1511, but died before 20 June 1516, possibly at Flodden. He was probably married to a daughter of Sir Alexander Forbes of Pitsligo. She was married to the Laird of Balquholly late in the 1400s. This must be either John or his son Magnus."
