"John Hay of Lochloy and Park married Janet Sutherland, who died A. D. 1587, the daughter of William Sutherland of Duffus." (page 86)

"Janet Sutherland, daughter of the above William Sutherland of Duffus, married John Hay of Lochloy and Park ; he died 1598, she died 1587, and their remains were interred at Auldearn, with an inscription still to be seen on a monument in the chancel of the cathedral of that town. They left children" (page 88)
