Duncan married Jean GORDON, daughter of Sir William GORDON 5th of Park, 3rd Baronet, Jacobite 1745 and Janet DUFF.^{1 2} (Jean GORDON was born between May and June 1746 in Rothiemay parish, Banffshire, Scotland ^{1 3} and died in 1767 ¹.)

"Jean (Gordon), born at Rothiemay six weeks after Culloden, married Colonel Duncan Urquhart of Burdsyards (Sanquhar), and died in 1767 in giving birth to her son Robert, who married ' beneath him.' "

"Captain Robert left a son, Captain Duncan, who was served heir to him in 1741, but, dying in 1742 without issue, was succeeded by his brother Charles, he himself never having made up a title to the estates. Charles, 2nd son of the hero of Sheriffmuir, had a son who became Colonel Duncan and married Jane or Jean Gordon, daughter of Sir William Gordon of Park and his wife Janet, second daughter of the first Lord Fife."
