Marriage Notes: "After the death of her husband, Wardlaw of Wilton, Christian married Sir John Cockburn, Knight. Nisbet says 'Valange, or Valoniis, of Torry, married one of the co-heirs of the Lord of Loquhoir, and got with her the barony of Inchgall, as in the genealogical tree of the Boswells of Balmuto, who (sic) married another of the co-heirs of Loquhoir. Valange of Torry ended in heiresses, the eldest of whom married Wardlaw ; he got with her the lands of Torry and quartered the arms of Valange (three water budgetts).' " |
