Esme married Catherine CLIFTON in 1607.1 (Catherine CLIFTON was born about 1592, died in 1637 1 and was buried on 17 September 1637 1.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Esmé (Stewart), third Duke of Lennox, succeeded his brother in his Scottish titles only. He did homage to the King of France for Aubigny 8 April 1600, and was brought to Scotland in 1603. He was created, 7 June 1619, Earl of March and Lord Clifton of Leighton-Bromswold in England and K.G. He died at Kirkby, 30 July 1624, of spotted fever, and was buried in Westminster Abbey. He married in 1607 Catherine, daughter and heiress of Gervase, Lord Clifton of Leighton-Bromswold, who was married, secondly, about 1632, to James, second Earl of Abercorn, and died in Scotland, being buried 17 September 1637, and left issue"
