Girsall married Reverend Mr William STRACHAN of Luesk, Minister of Daviot parish, son of William STRACHAN of Tillifroskie and Christian IRVINE, on 6 May 1613 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 2 (Reverend Mr William STRACHAN of Luesk, Minister of Daviot parish was born about 1589 and died after 26 July 1654 3.)

"William Strachan, probably brother of Andrew and Alexander S., mins. of Chapel of Garioch (error, see note); educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen; M.A. (1605); adm. before 14th April 1613; refused to take the Covenant in 1640, and was arrested by a party of its supporters; was suspended by the Synod in 1649 and had an Act of Parliament passed in his favour 26th June that year. He marr. Grizel Smith, and had issue William, a student at Marischal College 1630-8."

Fasti Ecclesiae, this William Strachan was wrongly identified. He was not the son of William Strachan, Minister of Dun in Angus, but was related to the family through marriage. 1 2
