ALLARDICE, Thomas of that Ilk 1User ID: V325. General Notes: "Thomas, Laird of Allardice was born by 1426, and succeeded his grandfather in the barony of Allardice by 1457, and more probably succeeded by 1451, when Thomas had seisin of the lands of Allardice. As early as 1457 he witnessed a decree regarding lands in the earldom of Mar, and a 1458 document records a pledge of lands to Thomas. In that same year he petitioned the king (James II) that his lands in Kincardineshire and Aberdeenshire be redeemed from the crown...... Thomas Allardice died after January 24, 1470 and before May 28, 1474, when his son John was served as his heir." Thomas married Elizabeth IRVINE, daughter of Alexander DE IRWINE Master of Drum and Daughter ABERNETHY.1 2 (Elizabeth IRVINE was born about 1435 and died after 1503 2.) Marriage Notes: " 'The said day, 20th October, 1503, Elizabeth Irwyn, the relict of umquhile Allardee of that ilk, followit and pursewit William Buchane, baxter, for the wrangniss castin doun of hir houss.'
