Margaret married Hugh MONTGOMERIE Lord Montgomerie, 5th Earl of Eglinton, son of Hugh MONTGOMERIE Lord Montgomerie, 4th Earl of Eglinton and Egidia or Giles BOYD, in August 1604.¹ The marriage ended in annulled 11 march 1612. (Hugh MONTGOMERIE Lord Montgomerie, 5th Earl of Eglinton was born about 1584 and died on 4 September 1612 ¹.)

" .... Margaret, born about 1590, was married, first, about 1604, to her cousin Hugh, fifth Earl of Eglintoun ..." (page 442)

"The fifth Earl married, in August 1604 (contract dated 3, 5, and 9 May 1604), his cousin-german, Margaret, eldest daughter of Robert Montgomerie of Giffen, Master of Eglintoun. He had already in 1598, been contracted to Gabriela Stewart, sister of Ludovic, second Duke of Lennox, but she preferred to become a nun. About two years after his marriage the Earl granted to his wife, as his nearest heir, the earldom of Eglintoun and other lands. The union turned out unhappily, and the parties having separated in June 1608, the Earl revoked his grants. The marriage was annulled by the Commissaries of Edinburgh, 11 March 1612, on a petition by the Countess." (page 444)

Margaret next married Robert BOYD 7th Lord Boyd, son of Robert BOYD Master of Boyd and Jean KER, before 24 March 1615.¹ (Robert BOYD 7th Lord Boyd was born about 1595.)

" .... Margaret, born about 1590, was married .... secondly .... to Robert, Lord Boyd. She died without issue to either husband in 1615 or 1616."
