Quhilk death was soone revenged thaireefter; for Alexander Stewart to revenge his brother's slauchter, manfullie sett vpoun Sir Thomas Boyd in plaine batle,' at Craignaught Hill in Renfrewshire 'quhair the said Sir Thomas was crullie slaine with manie valient men on everie syd,' 9 July 1439. The name of his wife is not recorded, but he had issue"
