"This Alexander appears to have been Sir Robert's second son who afterwards succeeded to the Chiefship and estates on the death of his elder brother John without male issue, and who by his marriage with Margaret de la Ard acquired the Erchless portion of the Bisset property and other extensive estates in the North." Margaret of the Aird is mentioned in an indenture dated at Kinrossy, in the Barony of Cullace, Perthshire, in 1403, and in the same document her son, Thomas of Chisholme, is also named." (page 27)
