John married Barbara GORDON, daughter of George GORDON 6th of Gight and Isobel WOOD, 3 August 1620(contract) married 25 May 1624.1 2 (Barbara GORDON was born about 1595 and died in February 1639 1 2.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Barbara (Gordon) married Sir John Turing, both of them 'recusants,'1623 (Mair's Presbytery of Ellon, p. 67). A royal charter of July 29, 1623 (the year when they were recusants), shows the marriage contract between Barbara Gordon and Sir John Turing of Foveran was dated at Gight, August 3, 1620.

On January 5, 1629, she renounced her right in the Mains of Gight in favour of her father. Her husband was present at the battle of Worcester, 1651, and had been created a baronet, 1639. He lost his lands at Foveran, which his house had held for three centuries. He had by Barbara Gordon a son, George, who was alive in 1644 (Troubles, ii., 330), but predeceased him."

from Gight

"Sir John Turing of Foveran, 1st Bt., m. 25 May 1624, Barbara Gordon (d. Feb 1639, dau. of George Gordon of Gight), d. 1652 (see Note below). He was served heir to his eldest brother in 1616, and having warmly espoused the cause of King Charles I in the north, he was created by him a baronet of Nova Scotia ca. 1638."

from Descendants of Sir John Turing and Henry Turing

Note:

1652 appears to a typographical error for 1662, as George Turing died before his father and his son John inherited from his grandfather.
