"11 May 1567
Contract of Marriage between Kenzeocht McKennycht [McKenzie] of Kyntaill [Kintail], for himself and in behalf of his daughter, Agnes McKennycht [McKenzie], on the one part, and Lachlan McIntoyschie [McIntosh] of Dunnachtane [Dunachton], on the other part, for the marriage of the said Lachlan and Agnes before Lammas next. He promises to infeft her in liferent in all his lands of Lochabir [Lochaber] and in a davoch and a half of Drumchardnye [Drumchardine], half davoch of Holme, half davoch of Cragak [Cragaig], half davoch of Kynnereis [Kinnairies], and others. Her tocher is 1500 merks, payable in three instalments, the first of which, 800 merks, is to be paid before Whitsunday, and to be repaid if the contract is not fulfilled, Robert Munro of Fowlis [Foulis] being cautioner for this.
Dated at Brayne [Brahan], 11th May 1567
