Margaret married Sir James HAMILTON of Finnart, son of James HAMILTON 2nd Lord Hamilton, 1st Earl of Arran and Mary BOYD.1 (Sir James HAMILTON of Finnart was born about 1498 and died on 16 August 1540 1.). The cause of his death was executed for treason.

"He (James Hamilton) married Margaret, only daughter and heiress of Sir Robert Livingstone of Drumry and East Wemyss, and had a son James, ancestor of the Hamiltons of Gilkerscleugh, and a daughter Agnes, married to James, Lord Somerville."
