Janet married John JAFFRAY of Dilspro, Provost of Aberdeen, son of Alexander JAFFRAY of Kingswells, Provost of Aberdeen and Magdalene ERSKINE, on 22 January 1637 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.¹ (John JAFFRAY of Dilspro, Provost of Aberdeen was baptised on 28 September 1615 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland ³ and died on 10 June 1684 ².)

"Jaffray, like his distinguished brother, was twice married, his first spouse being Janet Forbes, a daughter of
William Forbes, burgess, by his wife Janet Hay, who died on the 14th March, 1656, some months before her husband's election to the provostship."
