Grizel married Alexander SETON Earl of Dunfermline, Chancellor of Scotland, son of George SETON 7th of that Ilk, 5th Lord Seton and Isabel HAMILTON, on 27 October 1601.1 (Alexander SETON Earl of Dunfermline, Chancellor of Scotland was born in 1555,1 died on 16 June 1622 in Pinkie, Musselburgh, East Lothian, Scotland 1 and was buried on 9 July 1622 in Dalgety, Fife, Scotland 1.)

"He (Alexander Seton) married, secondly (contract 27 October 1601), Grizel Leslie, fourth daughter of James, Master of Rothes, and sister of John, sixth Earl of Rothes. She died 6 September 1606."

"Grizel (Leslie), married to Alexander, Lord Fyvie, first Earl of Dunfermline. Alexander, Lord Fyvie, President of the Council and College of Justice, made a contract of marriage with James, Master of Rothes, in behalf of Grizel Leslie, his daughter, whereby he agreed to marry the said Grizel, dated at Leslie, 27th October 1601. Grizel Leslie, Countess of Dunfermline, died before 4th November 1606, when James, Master of Rothes, her father, granted a charter to Alexander, Earl of Dunfermline, bearing that by the marriage contract of the deceased Lady Grizel Leslie, he bound himself to pay to the said earl the sum of 30,000 merks, of which sum 10,000 merks were paid ; and the Master of Rothes sold to the said earl certain annual rents out of the lands of Leslie."
