George married Elizabeth DOUGLAS, daughter of John DOUGLAS of Barras and Jean FRASER, 31 January 1634(contract).1 (Elizabeth DOUGLAS was born about 1616 and died in April 1656 1.)

"Sir George married (i) Elizabeth (contract dated 31 January, 1634), daughter of Mr. John Douglas of Barras, younger son of William, ninth Earl of Angus, and co-portioner with his brother, Mr Gavin, of the lands of Barras, by Jean Fraser, a member of the Durris family. She died April, 1656, and was buried at Caterline."

George next married Margaret ARBUTHNOTT, daughter of Robert ARBUTHNOTT 3rd of Fiddes and Margaret BARCLAY, 3 October 1656(contract) married before 16 January 1657.1 2 (Margaret ARBUTHNOTT was born about 1621 and died in November 1689 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

Margaret, married .... secondly, prior to 16 January 1657, to Sir George Ogilvy of Barras, created a baronet in 1661 for his defence of Dunottar Castle in 1652, and his consequent share in the preservation of the Honours of Scotland. She died November 1689.."
