In her death certificate of 1866 Jean was recorded as "Jean Gartshore married to Alexander Gartshore Cotton Weaver", and as aged 32 years at the time of her death. Her father was deceased. 3


Jean married Alexander GAITSHORE, son of James GARTSHORE and Agnes FERGUSON, in December 1852 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 2 (Alexander GAITSHORE was born on 9 June 1819 in Kirkintilloch parish, Dunbartonshire, Scotland 4 7 8 9 10 11, baptised on 9 June 1819 in Kirkintilloch parish, Dunbartonshire, Scotland 12 and died on 3 May 1894 in Waterside, Kirkintilloch parish, Dunbartonshire, Scotland 6.). The cause of his death was general debility and fracture of thigh.3
