RELATIONSHIP

The identification of him with this family rests on a DNA Match with a descendant of his and a descendant of Catherine McConvill. The parish of Drumgath, or Drumgrath, is also a link: Catherine McConvill's husband has this as his address in their marriage record. Drumgath, Newry and Clonallon parishes are adjacent to one another.

It may be that Peter McConvill is a cousin or even a second cousin of Catherine McConville, daughter of John McConville and Sarah Hammill, but he has been placed here until further information is forthcoming. There were a great many McConvills in Drumgath parish at that time, and no doubt a lot of those were closely interrelated, sometimes through both husband and wife. Indeed if Peter's wife Nancy had McConvill as her maiden name, then the link may be through her rather than Peter. ^{1 2 3}
