In her death certificate of 1976 Isabella Lindsay Taylor Nisbet was recorded as "Married to William Nisbet (Railway Engine Driver, Retired)". Her age at death was 80 years, she having been born 11 January 1896. Her parents were deceased.

In his death certificate of 1981 William Nisbet, a Railway Engine Driver, Retired, was recorded as "Married to Isabella Lindsay Taylor Bruce", though strictly speaking he was the widower of Isabella 2 3

  Research Notes:

"My grandmother was a "rigger" of biplanes during WWI. Those are Sopwith Camels in the one photo. She's standing by the bullseye. There's an arrow at bottom of the other photo that points to her. She's the one holding that long piece of pipe."

The informant of Isabella's death was her son William Nisbet, of 124 Madison Gardens, Midland Park, New Jersey, USA. 3


Isabella married William NISBET, son of William NISBET and Margaret CALDWELL, on 6 May 1921 in Charteris Memorial Church, Edinburgh, Scotland.1 (William NISBET was born on 21 March 1894 in 112 Nicolson Street, Newington, Edinburgh, Scotland 5 6 7 8 9 and died on 11 May 1981 in 14 Loganlea Avenue, Edinburgh, Scotland 2 5.). The cause of his death was coronary thrombosis and arteriosclerosis.3


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated according to the forms of the Established Church of Scotland. George Campbell M.A. of Charteris Memorial Church married the couple. The witnesses were John Bogg and Catherine Dickson Bruce.

William Nisbet was a bachelor aged 27 years. He was a locomotive stoker, and a Private in the 1st Cameron Highlanders. His residence was 171 Causewayside, Edinburgh. His father was deceased.

Iabella Lindsay Taylor Bruce, of Henry Street, Edinburgh, was aged 25 years and single. She worked as a fancy box maker.

The marriage was registered at Newington, Edinburgh. 1
