No baptism record has been found for this person.

The 1841 census for Methlick in Aberdeenshire recorded Peter Hardie living with his family at Auchencrieve. He was aged 5 years and was born in Aberdeenshire.

Peter Hardie was living at Goosepools in Methlick Parish, Aberdeenshire, when the census for Scotland in 1851 was taken. He was, in the census list, the second eldest of nine children. Peter was recorded as 14 years old and recorded as born in Methlick, Aberdeenshire. He was a scholar.
