Robert Russell's death certificate of 1951 recorded that he was a retired miner aged 75 years, and widower of first Jessie White then secondly Elizabeth Woodhead Anderson. His usual residence was 100 Birkenshaw, Larkhall. His parents were deceased.

  Medical Notes:

Andrew A. Russell, son of the deceased, of 8 Udston Avenue, Stonehouse, was the informant of the death of his father Robert before the registrar at Larkhall on 15 January 1951. ⁴

Robert married Jessie WHITE, daughter of William WHYTE and Margaret RUSSELL, on 7 June 1895 in 105 Graham Street, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹ (Jessie WHITE was born on 14 April 1874 in Stone Row, Calderbank, Old Monkland Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland ^{5 6} and died on 21 April 1898 in 26 Forsyth Street, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁷.)

The marriage was celebrated according to the forms of the Church of Scotland, D.H. Paterson, Minister of Airdrie, being the celebrant. The witnesses were A. McAllister and Jeanie White.

Robert Russell was a 20 year old bachelor of 60 Hallcraig, Airdrie. He worked as a coal miner. His parents were deceased.

Jessie White, of 105 Graham Street, Airdrie, was 21 years old and unmarried. She was a weaver in a cotton mill. Her father was deceased.

The marriage was registered at Airdrie on 10 June 1895. ¹
