In his death certificate of 1861 Willam Russell was recorded as an Engine Keeper married to Margaret Marshall. His age at death was noted as 71 years. His father was recorded as deceased.

When Margaret Russell died in 1863 she was recorded as aged 72 years, and "widow of William Russell Iron Furnace Engine Keeper".

When his daughter Elizabeth died in Utah in 1908 William Russell was recorded in her death certificate as an "engineer" by occupation. 2 4 5 6 7 8 10 12

William married Margaret MARSHALL, daughter of James MARSHALL and Elisabeth BINNING, on 14 January 1816 in Shotts parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Margaret MARSHALL was born about 1791-1793 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland 7 8 10 13 and died on 21 December 1863 in Dykehead, Shotts parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland 8.). The cause of her death was diarrhoea for some weeks.4
