Joseph married Alice GARTSHORE, daughter of Robert GARTSHORE and Mary DUNCAN, on 27 February 1906 in South Dalziel Manse, Motherwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Alice GARTSHORE was born about 1878 in Cambusnethan parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland ^{1 2}.)

The marriage took place according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. Dr J. MacDonald, minister of South Dalziel, officiated. The witnesses were David White and Mary Graham.

Joseph Bell White was a blacksmith by trade. He was a 34 year old bachelor living at Cowies (?) Square Craigneuk. His father was deceased.

Alice gartshore, a domestic servant, was 30 years old and single. She lived at 316 Craigneuk Street Dalziel.

The marriage was registered in Dalziel parish on 2 March 1906.
