GEORGE GARTHSHORE, born 1687, son of James G of that ilk; chaplain to the Laird of Westshiel ; licen. by Presb. of Lanark 20th Sept. 1710; ord. to Anwoth 10th June 1714 ; called 1st Oct. 1722 ; trans, and adm. 26th June 1723 ; died 24th Jan. 1760. He marr. 10th April 1716, Barbara (died, 14th Aug. 1774), daugh. of John Gordon of Garrery, and had issue Euphemia, born 11th Feb. 1731 ; Maxwell of Rusco [by his marriage with Miss M Guffog, heiress of Rusco], M.D., London, born 28th Oct. 1732, died 1812; Nicolas, (marr.
