"Janet Cheyne married Walter Magill 7 August 1691, in Edinburgh Parish, Midlothian, Scotland. Their abstracted entry from the Register of Marriages of the City of Edinburgh, 1595-1700, reads: "Cheyne (Chein, Cheyne), Janet; Mr. Walter Magill, minister, 07 Aug 1691". No children of this union were found."

"Janet Cheyne married James Garshore 21 June 1696, in Edinburgh, Old Kirk Parish, Midlothian, Scotland. Her IGI entry, dated 3 July 1696, had her name as, Jennet Chien or Magill. No children of this union were found. Her abstracted Register of Marriages entry reads: "Gartshore (Garshore, Gartschore) Mr. James, late minister at Tranent; Janet Chien, widow of Mr. Walter Magill, late minister at Paisley, 21 Jun 1696 , m. 03 Jul 1696."
