However, an 1841 census entry within Clarkston parish, next to New Monkland in Lanarkshire, may be him:

"James Mount 30 (years) born Ireland Labourer
Ann Robertson 20 (years) born Scotland (ie not the census county of Lanarkshire)
Jessie Mount 8 (years) born Lanarkshire Scotland
Charles Mount 6 Mo(nths) born Lanarkshire Scotland"
