In the 1888 marriage certificate of his daughter Ann, registered in January 1889, Patrick McEwan was recorded as a labourer. He was a widower. ^{1 2}

Patrick married Grace KEENAN. (Grace KEENAN was born about 1840 in Ireland ² and died before 29 December 1888 ^{1 2}.)
