McSWENE OR MCQUENE, James

"JAMES, called M'SWENE, and M'QUENE, in Inverlaidnan,
Who in 1613 was (?) as a resetter of the Clan Gregor. On 16th September and 20th November 1615 he obtained a wadset from John Grant of Freuchie of the lands of Lethindie-veole, and part of Kinveachy-robie and on 22d February 1641, the wadset was renewed. He appears as a witness several times between 1613 and 1663. He died in February 1665, and his testament was confirmed on 3d September 1666. Donald Grant, eldest son to John Grant of Dalrachnie, was residuary legatee. He seems to have been nephew of the testator, and succeeded him in Inverlaidnan."
