Anna married Alexander LINDSAY, son of Sir David LINDSAY of Edzell and Margaret WISHART, 30 December 1631(contract) in Perth, Scotland.¹ (Alexander LINDSAY was born about 1600 and died before 18 October 1639 ².)

  Marriage Notes:

"Lady Anna, who married Alexander Lindsay, son and heir-apparent of David Lindsay of Edzell, and his wife, Margaret Wishart. Their contract is dated at Perth, 30th December 1631, and in terms of it the bridegroom's parents were to receive the young couple into household with themselves, and entertain them and their children in a manner befitting their estate, otherwise they were to have the house of Auchmull as a dwelling-place. The tocher given with the bride was 16,000 merks.* They had issue a daughter, who married Walter, Lord Torphichen, and as Dame Jean Lindsay, Lady Torphichen, she was afterwards served heir to her mother. The first husband of Lady Anna Wemyss, however, did not long survive, and she married as her second husband Mungo Murray, second Viscount of Stormont, Lord Scone, being also his second wife."

Anna next married Sir Mungo MURRAY of Drumcairn, 2nd Viscount of Stormont, son of Sir John MURRAY Earl of Tullibardine and Catherine DRUMMOND, 18 October 1639(contract) in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.² (Sir Mungo MURRAY of Drumcairn, 2nd Viscount of Stormont was born about 1582 and died before 11 March 1642 ².)

  Marriage Notes:

"He (Mungo Murray) married, secondly (contract dated at Edinburgh 18 October 1639), Anna, daughter of John, first Earl of Wemyss, and relict of Alexander Lindsay, eldest son of David Lindsay of Edzell. She died 20 September 1643. Leaving no male issue, the title passed to

III. James Murray, second Earl of Annandale, who as son and heir of the deceased Earl of Annandale, formerly John Murray of Reidkirk, succeeded as third Viscount Stormont."
