William married Helen VALLELY, daughter of Francis VALLELY in Glebe and Mary HUGHES, on 30 August 1864 in Lochee RC Church, Dundee, Angus, Scotland.¹ (Helen VALLELY was born on 12 April 1846 in Glasgow, Scotland ^{2 3} and was baptised on 19 April 1846 in St Andrew's RC Chapel, Glasgow, Scotland ³.)

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. Father George Davidson, Catholic Clergyman, was the celebrant. The witnesses were Patrick Vallelly and Jessie Jack.

William Marshall was a mill worker aged 19 years. He lived at Burnside Street Lochee and was unmarried.

Hellen Vallelly was a mill worker too. She was single and 17 years of age. She shared the same address as William. Her father was deceased.
