Bathia married William DUFF of Whitehill, Merchant, Provost of Banff, son of Patrick DUFF of Craigston and Anna INNES, 24 May 1717(contract) married 1718 in Episcopal Church, Banff, Scotland.^{1 2} (William DUFF of Whitehill, Merchant, Provost of Banff was born in 1690,¹ died on 24 November 1740 ^{1 4 5} and was buried on 27 November 1740 in Banff parish, Banffshire, Scotland ^{4 5}.)

"An antenuptial contract of marriage was agreed between William Duff, merchant in Banff, son of Patrick Duff of Craigstoun, and Bathia Garden, daughter of Alexander Garden of Troup, elder on 24 May 1717."
