  Marriage Notes:

"These brother ministers (Messrs John and Robert Lauder) were the sons of the Bailie of Tyninghame, Mr. John Lauder, of the elder branch of the family, who died in 1621, about six years after his son John was nominated to the church at Tyninghame. Their widowed mother lived at Haddington, and Mistress Jean Lauder, one of the sisters of this large and united family, kept her brother's house at Tyninghame Manse until she was married, on the 19th February 1629, to Mr. George Forrest, in consequence of which, the following year, Mr. John, the minister, took unto himself a wife."
